The English deprived wards are one of the stats at - http://www.neighbourhood.statistics.gov.uk/home.asp We find this site very useful and have done some community profiling with it. However our library catchment areas are worked out by Postcode (analysis of borrowers, backed up by the PLUS survey figures), and Postcode areas don't always fit very well with wards. The Neighbourhood Statistics site is promising to provide figures by enumeration district, which will give smaller areas, but it would be a very time consuming to work out our catchment areas by enumeration areas. We would like to do some calculations which have a 'better fit' but at present we can't find the time - what with Annual Library Plans, etc! Best wishes Viv Watkins
