medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

CALL FOR PAPERS

The Department of Philosophy, Marquette University and Marquette
University Press are sponsoring a session at the 38th International
Congress on Medieval Studies in Kalamazoo, Michigan (8-11 May 2003). The
topic is:

Medieval Philosophical Texts in Translation

Papers on any topic concerning Medieval Philosophy and translation
broadly construed are welcome.

Some possible topics:

a) Transmission of philosophical terminology from Greek, Arabic and
Hebrew into Latin, or Greek into Arabic, or Arabic into Hebrew.

b) Philosophical issues and problems occasioned by medieval and modern
translations.

c) Presentations regarding projects of translation into modern European
languages.

d) Philosophical doctrines transmitted and disputes occasioned by
medieval translations.
