British Library

UKMARC - MARC 21 conversion tables now available from the British Library.

The UKMARC - MARC 21 conversion tables are now available free of charge from
the British Library. The tables cover all UKMARC fields and contents
designations, and include all fields used in the creation of the British
National Bibliography (BNB).  Please send an e-mail to [log in to unmask],
giving your name and details of your organisation. The tables will be
despatched as a Word 2 file by return e-mail. Alternatively, go to the
"Moving to MARC 21" page on the BL website
(www.bl.uk/services/bibliographic/marc21move.html), or follow the links
Services - Bibliographic - National Bibliographic Service - Moving to MARC
21, and requesting the tables from there.

A guide to the differences between MARC 21 and UKMARC, entitled "Changing
the record", is also now available as a PDF file on
www.bl.uk/services/bibliographic/marcchange.pdf. "Changing the record" may
also be retrieved by going to the "Moving to MARC 21" page.
