Die Deutsche Lyrik in Reclams Universalbibliothek

Die Deutsche Lyrik in Reclams Universalbibliothek is an ambitious and far
reaching project that makes 600 years of German poetry available online.

Die Deutsche Lyrik illustrates the development of German language and
literature. The database can be used to examine the reciprocal influences
between poetry and politics, poetry and literary theory, and poetry and
philosophy, making it possible to compare the way that Mörike and Uhland
understood the nature and function of poetry, or the contributions made to
contemporary philosophical thought by Heine and Herder.

The electronic version of Die Deutsche Lyrik in Reclams Universal-Bibliothek
covers almost 500 years of German lyric poetry and includes the work of over
500 authors from the 15th to the 20th century. Die Deutsche Lyrik is
published with the co-operation and support of Philipp Reclam jun., Stuttgart
and covers all volumes of German poetry published within Reclams
Universalbibliothek since 1945.

Die Deutsche Lyrik in Reclams Universal-Bibliothek contains the complete
text of each poem. It also includes the texts of a number of anthologies,
which increase the scope and the range of the resource and puts lesser
known authors into context.
