I think Matthew's email on this is rather misleading and as someone who was
involved the development of the HBSMR almost from the beginning, I'd like to
try and put the record straight.

1. ALGAO were partners with EH and Exegesis in the development of the
software, and SMR officers as ALGAO representatives were fully involved in
its development.
2. Most members of the HBSMR User Group work for organisations that are
members of ALGAO, organisations that fund the development through buying
licences and support.
3. ALGAO also provide the chair and there is a regular item on the ALGAO SMR
committee agenda so the chair can report back, alongside those members of
the ALGAO SMR community who attend HBSMR Users Group.

Perhaps 'sub-group' is not the term to use but I can't think of an
alternative this late in the day! However, we should still recognise the
importance of ensuring good communication and clear relationships between
all the various meetings as well as the importance of the ALGAO role as
representing many, if not most, user organisations.
