its interesting that in cultures such as tribal communities in the Amazon
that low back pain as a concept does not exist. It simply has no cultural
relevance and therefore has never become an entity. However researchers such
as Waddel and Burton have found that by living there for 3 months and making
daily reviews of the men in the tribes, that back pain does exist - but in
there social context "So What". In fact it exists in the same age groups and
in the same percentages as it does in western cultures. It is therefore
considered a "normal" phenomenum  (?spelling) that in our western and some
eastern societies has developed a cultural and social relevance. In some
cultures this has evolved even more, e.g. "Mediterranean Back"
