I have posted a short report as a .pdf file on the web site of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation at www.ihbc.org.uk.  It arose from the LAHER project completed for English Heritage last November by Gill Chitty and myself. Though time pressures meant most of it was worked up subsequently, it began as an attempt to get some information, however sketchy, to put alongside what had been gathered about SMRs in 1998.  The analysis of the responses to the questions is followed by a brieif discussion of why historic buildings systems are so much less advanced than archaeological ones.
