Okay David .... how many schools are paying their Business Studies / Economics teachers Ł40,000 pa? Are the Welsh THAT generous?????

Most Business / Economic NQT's are mature students, often with spouses/partners/children - they are just not as geographically mobile. Besides which if you live in a low cost housing area (good idea for students and NQT's) then making the move to a high cost housing area on a teachers salary is really out of the question.

I've got a PGCE student with me at the moment ... most of her group had a job lined up months ago, many before they even started their second attachment ... schools have to get in quick by the looks of it!
