Two names come to mind, Alvan R. Feinstein and Olli Mettinen. Recently the latter has written at the CMAJ and is on line http://www.cmaj.ca/cgi/collection/the_modern_scientific_physician_series particularly on diganostics and screening. Jordi M. I know that the current paradigm is a probabilistic model, and is essentially Baysian in nature. I have read some discussion that focuses on this approach, but was wondering whether anyone could recommend any other reading, especially any that focuses on non-probabalistic techniques. Any advice?
