Our members are concerned with offender and employment issues in each member state of the European Union. Our purpose is to contribute to a reduction in offending by promoting the social integration and reintegration of offenders through employment and training. In pursuit of our mission we: * Identify and promote good practice approaches to the reintegration of offenders * Provide an international forum for the exchange of information on good practice * Influence policy makers at national and European levels to improve the level and quality of employment and training services for offenders * Provide an information service and database for the use of our affiliates and members across Europe Promote and facilitate transnational partnerships between organisations providing employment and training services to offenders in the different member states. What works? European networking for the identification of successful practice in preparing ex-offenders for employment integration EOEF is currently running a project funded by the European Commission, which will form part of the preparatory actions to combat and prevent social exclusion. The project will run until June 2003 and aims to identify present and promote good practice in preparing ex-offenders for employment integration. This conference will provide an opportunity to attend workshops on best practice projects and to discuss what kinds of interventions help ex-offenders and to compare the approaches adopted in different EU countries. We are currently looking for good practice examples from across the European Union. If you would like your project to be considered please e-mail us and we will be in touch with you.
