Visiting
Scholars
Rutgers Institute for Research on Women
Visiting Scholars
Visiting scholars typically hold academic
appointments elsewhere but
wish to be in residence at the Institute for a
semester or a year.
Although Visiting Scholar appointments are unsalaried,
they carry
faculty privileges including access to libraries and
recreational
facilities, private office space at the IRW, and participation
in
university lectures, colloquia and seminars. Scholars also
receive
university email accounts and modest photocopying and
long-distance
telephone support. The complete call is available at
http://irw.rutgers.edu/programs/vscholars.html.
Visiting
Scholars in residence at the IRW are invited to give a public
presentation
about their work and participate in our weekly
faculty/graduate seminar. The
2002-2003 seminar topic is "Reconfiguring
Class and Gender: Identities,
Rights, and Social Movements." Selected
Rutgers faculty and graduate seminar
fellows will meet weekly with IRW
Visiting Scholars to discuss their
work-in-progress and investigate
themes related to the seminar topic. See the
Seminar Call for
Applications (http://irw.rutgers.edu/programs/seminar02-03.html)
for
additional information.
