This is a follow-up to an earlier post by Julia Wise regarding the efficacy of web sites: who is hitting them, when, and how do we know?

My colleague Nick Case replied, citing an article by Jonathan Moffett (Ashmolean Museum) in the latest ACN (Archaeological Computing Newsletter).

We received several requests for the article to be posted to the forum. Usually we'd have to direct you to the subscription site, but I know that many may not have access to
the ACN. I've therefore been in touch with the author ([log in to unmask]) who has given me permission to post his work to the forum: I've
attached it here as "webstats.zip" which contains the two documents in Microsoft Word format.

Some of you might be interested in the ACN: The Archaeology Computing Newsletter is intended to appeal to archaeologists who use computers in a non-specialist way. It's
contents keep people informed about current developments in computer applications and new approaches, as well as listing up-to-date information about relevant
conferences, publications, etc. Subscriptions are only £7 per annum in the UK, and the newsletter is released 3 to 4 times a year. Please see
http://www.gla.ac.uk/Acad/Archaeology/acn/index.html for further information including how to contribute articles and subscribe.
