You will be a leading member of the DRC policy team, tasked with ensuring we
are the foremost authority on disability policy issues. Heading-up a unit of
three people, your remit will involve the management and
implementation of projects and advising us on the implications of policy and
legislation. 
Ideally, you should have: 
*       Significant experience in policy; 
*       You'll be adept at developing policy in high-profile areas and able
to co-ordinate project groups and your team; 
*       Although the ability to manage staff is required this maybe
demonstrated in other ways than experience of staff management; 
*       A commitment to disability equality and a clear understanding of our
work are both essential.

You will be responsible for designing, commissioning and managing a range of
research projects in areas including health, social care and transport. 
You will also be influencing research in external agencies and disseminating
findings through reports and briefings. 
This role will demand:
*       A degree in social sciences, statistics or equivalent; 
*       A proven track record in conducting and managing social research; 
*       Full knowledge of research methodologies; 
*       Strong communication skills and the ability to plan, organise and
