With regard to nurse led services, Lewisham recently opened their primary care suit. Patints with either minor injuries or minor ailments are selected by a "Hello Nurse" or at triage, and "streamed" to a primarily nurse led service. It is protocol driven, has sessional GP's (although the protocols are do not change depending on GP presence) and is overseen by the consultants. It is a fantastic service! The public loves it, the trust love it, waiting times are down, violence is down, and generally everyone is happy.
