A Research Associate post for this study has been advertised in the UK Guardian (Tuesday 05/03/02) and is on www.jobs.ac.uk and our own website at: http://www.ncl.ac.uk/vacancies/vacancy.phtml?ref=A638R Part-time Junior Research Associate, Epidemiology & Public Health, stlg17,626 - stlg19,681 (pro rata) Based in the Department of Epidemiology & Public Health you will work on the European Diabetes Prevention Study, a randomised controlled trial evaluating the effectiveness of dietary and physical activity interventions in people with impaired glucose tolerance. You will be required to recruit trial participants, undertake oral glucose tolerance tests, anthropometry and venepuncture, prepare blood samples for storage and laboratory analysis, undertake interviews, collate and analyse data using Microdiet and other database software. You are expected to have a relevant first degree and, preferably, a PhD in a relevant field. The post is available immediately and is tenable until 31st December 2006.
