Dear All, I would be most grateful if you could give the following event your consideration; 'Interpreting Perception' project Date: Wednesday 24th April 2002 Time: 11.00am - 1.00pm Venue: John Hansard Gallery, University of Southampton This one-day project will address the issue of perception examining select pieces of Michael Snow's work featured in the exhibition (23 April - 8 June 2002). Influenced by his father's gradual blindness as a young man, Snow's concern with perception is evident throughout many of his photographic and installation works. Led by guest speaker William Kirby OBE, President of Museums and Galleries Disability Association, visual descriptions of works will be combined with his personal experience of peripheral sight, particularly focusing on how it impacts upon his own interpretation of contemporary art. All are welcome to participate, including professionals who may wish to gain an awareness of the experiences of people with sensory limitations. At 1.00pm the event will be followed by complimentary refreshments and buffet lunch. No admission charge. Early booking before 22nd April 2002 is advised, by contacting: Ronda Gowland John Hansard Galllery University of Southampton Highfield Southampton SO17-1BJ T: 023 8059 2160 F: 023 8059 4192 E: [log in to unmask] _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx ________________End of message______________________ Archives and tools for the Disability-Research Discussion List are now located at: www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/disability-research.html You can JOIN or LEAVE the list from this web page.
