I am beginning a piece of research looking at the current provision of pulmonary rehabilitation for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and whether or not it has proved effective in prolonging life, improving the quality of life, and reducing mortality from the disease. I am also interested in the role of specialist nurses in aiding the survival of COPD patients, and the benefits their role can bring to the health service. Furthermore i would be interested to find out if anyone had done any work on the epidemiology of COPD and in particular on survival rates. I would be grateful if anyone had any information they would like to share on the subject.

Yours Sincerely
