invisible opposites; male and female; meridians; mountains; music of

the spheres; orbits; planets; reflections and mirrors; sets and

boundaries; sun and moon; topography; translations,

traductions, transpositions; yin and

yang.

 

 

 

 

We aim to discuss aspects of the topic Hemispheres in relation to all forms of cultural practice – aesthetic, literary, cinematic, iconic, theatrical – in the forum of this interdisciplinary and international conference to be held in University College Cork, Ireland on 3-5 May 2002 Proposals are welcome on the topic of Hemispheres in literature, thought, music, film and the visual arts from scholars and critics working in all periods. Papers should be no longer than 30 minutes. Please submit abstracts of approximately 250 words by Friday, 15 February 2002, to:
