Dear Elena, Welcome to the "urban-drainage" list! You are indeed about to enter a very interesting and relevant topic area - only 6 % of the world's population are served by the conventional wastewater system consisting of sewer system, treatment plant and receiving water (number quoted from Janusz Niemczynowicz, 1997) - so alternative and low-cost technologies are of great relevance to almost all of the world's population. I am sure you will get some more replies from individuals and research institutions focusing on these topics. I just would like to point you to some more mailing lists which also may be of interest to you. A list of mailing lists relatd to water issues can be found on http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/files/URBAN-DRAINAGE/otherlists (some of the informatino may be outdated, but still be useful). It would be nice to get some more contributions also about alternative and low-cost technologies on the urban-drainage list. Are you working now with a consultancy, or are you interested in finding work opportunities for yourself? It would be nice to learn more about yourself and your interests, so that replies can be more specific. Good luck and best regards Manfred Schuetze Co-owner "urban-drainage" list elena crespi schrieb: > Hi!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = > "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> > > I知 Elena Crespi and I知 a new list member. > > I knew about this mailing list in the magazine WaterLines.
