outlined below, to be held on 23rd October and led by Beryl Morris. The
venue is the Andersonian Library, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow and the
cost is £100 (SALCTG members) or £120 (non-members) to include morning and

Managing Successful Projects: An intensive one-day workshop 

Objectives
·     to give practical help in managing complex tasks through the use of
project management techniques
·     to consider ways to plan, implement and monitor projects
·     to identify practical ways to achieve high performance from diverse
and 'virtual' teams
·     to encourage the exchange of ideas and approaches
·     to give practical experience in preparing an initial project plan

·     Scheduling tasks, identifying milestones, defining dependencies,
using Gantt charts and other methods to assist in allocating and managing
resources  
·     Practical exercise to develop a project plan

·     Methods for monitoring projects 
·     Staying in control - Managing and monitoring project teams to
co-ordinate and balance conflicting demands and achieve high performance.
