In eight weeks the
Pavement Evaluation 2002 Conference will be kicking off in Roanoke,
Virginia USA. Final details are being put into place and here are
some updates:
- A presentation has been added to Wednesday afternoon's session -

. The
synthesis will focus on automated pavement condition data collection and
processing techniques. Information to be captured includes that on
state-of-the-practice automated and semi-automated techniques including
the use of both imaging and non-contact sensor equipment, the QC/QA
procedures in use, the equipment and test protocols in use, and the costs
and benefits of the various techniques.
- A detailed Smart Road agenda will be supplied to vendors . This
agenda will describe the facility and outline the tour.
- A pavement distress site will be established near the conference
hotel. The site will be 0.5 miles long and have varying degrees of
asphalt pavement distresses. This site will allow vendors to record
