Oh my god! In between two busy weeks of celebrating through readings/symposiums/events the centenary of Halldor Laxness (he has the same birthday as Shakespeare & Cervantes), who only died 4 years ago, and to whom this society generally always referred as 'the skald' (the poet), I check my post and lo and behold (!) – poetryetc email comes flooding out (good thing I can swim). Everyone seems to have been highly motivated, not surprisingly after very upsettling two or three weeks newswise. I'll start picking my way backwards through this avalance of messages (what else can I do?) and respond in extreme brevity to whatever stirs me.
