Dear All: Curious enough...I caught Pinsky reading the poem on the News Hour with Jim Lehrer (he appears regularly there), and, although I knew he was reading the poem, it came off as an essay. Oh dear. A good effort but not, I'm afraid, a memorable poem. Last spring I had a very interesting discussion with my students regarding "September 1, 1939" in light of September 11.
