Hi Rayn, it is funny, but I first joined this list with a message advertising the Book of Hope and of Healing and I was also attacked, and by Dave among the many (I obliged myself not to answer his messages for a while), and as you said, I think that by now Dave has become a friend. Your Frank Parker was my Frederick Pollack who came at my rescue, and also Erminia Passananti, who left the list. The argument went on against the U.S.A. (I am half-American and half-Italian and live in Italy). I think we should see this list as a group and analyze its dynamics. It would be interesting. Just to say it is not completely against you, it is a reaction against the "new" who/which could upset the unsaid / always changeable / but still / established rules. Take care you all, Anny Well Dave, Why do you feel the need to attack? The notice isn't literature or some political assertion. It's just news and information for people who might want to consider a poet for a feature reading. Nothing more than that. Rayn "david.bircumshaw" wrote: I know nothing about the poetic abilities of the Dalai Lama, I do know that the alleged spiritual wisdom of the Lamaist tradition is almost totally non-existent, I've seen enough books allegedly found in caves to recognise something that is as much rubbish as Mormonism, that Tibet was a corrupt society the government of which in WWII was in sympathy with the Nazis, that mumbo-jumbo black magic was the order of the day, as with the Bon Pa. This is not to endorse the Han Chinese colonisation, which is awful too, but rather to suggest if one looks for these sources of serene wisdom one finds them nowhere. I wasn't attacking the material on your links, Rayn, but rather the presentation of the post, in particular its language. As for nice surprises, I think I've had enough of them of late.
