IMMEDIATE JOB OPENING A Fortune 500 firm in the northeast has a job opening for a "Concept Prototype Developer" at its R&D facility. The firm is seeking to fill this position immediately. The individual in this position is responsible for conceiving, prototyping and assessing the value of new product concepts through user-centered innovation. The position entails working with a cross-functional team focused on understanding customer needs, prototyping concept solutions, and identifying the value generated by concepts. The job includes meeting directly with customers in their own environment to observe and gain insights from their work practices. The work in this position emphasizes conceiving and building rapid prototypes of innovative solutions. In addition, it requires iteratively modifying prototypes to increase fidelity and functionality, and quickly react to new understanding of customer needs. The successful candidate must show demonstrated expertise in envisioning best ways to convey concepts, engage users and rapidly prototype both physical and software concept models. She or he will have a strong ability to express ideas through drawings and in physical implementations. Must be highly creative and generative; big picture oriented. Experience with physical modeling tools, such as SLA, and multimedia tools such as Flash, DreamWeaver, and Photo Shop are required. Experience with video and sound editing is a plus. BS/MS degree in Design, Industrial Design, Human Factors or related creative design degree and/or equivalent experience. 8+ years experience.
