Dear Colleagues, Those on the "margins" mentioned in several emails are not on the margins within their own framework. Marginalized groups are only there in the perception of those who marginalize them. Sometimes this means that they are excluded. But, sometimes it means that those who marginalize them are excluded from some really interesting things, through their own perception of the elevated status of themselves. What is marginalized often later becomes the mainstream as well. So, if you think of yourself as mainstream and in the know, maybe you ought to take another look.
