Lap tops are problematical. It is difficult to comply with UK's DSE
Regulations sitting in a car with a lap top. They can be taken to the most
remote (and sometimes unsuitable) work environment. They do not have a
separate keyboard and screen.

As a minimum, people should get a separate keyboard and plug it in thus
enabling better positioning of screen and increasing the chances of an
ergonomic solution.

Subject: use of laptops in the community

Dear all, I have been asked to help a physio colleague who recently saw
someone whom her employer expects her to use a laptop inn the car. I have
begun by advising on the usual stuff re risk assessments, DSE regs etc, but
wondered if anyone has seen any recent articles which would be helpful.

Thanks
Ruth Milner
