VUV Probes of Spectroscopy and Dynamics

A Symposium at the

225th National ACS Meeting

New Orleans, LA,  March 23-27, 2003

Arthur G. Suits and Cheuk-Yiu Ng, Organizers

The use of vacuum ultraviolet probes of reaction dynamics, photoionization dynamics and molecular spectroscopy is in an exciting stage of growth.  These advances in experimental techniques are being fueled by parallel rapid development of VUV light sources. The latter includes powerful tunable VUV/XUV laser sources, advances in VUV excimer laser technology, and the development of third and fourth generation synchrotron sources and in their growing application to fundamental problems in gas phase reaction dynamics and spectroscopy.  The goal of this Symposium is to bring together these various communities to foster further advances.

The Symposium will feature thirty-seven invited speakers in nine sessions running the full duration of the ACS Meeting. Contributed submissions for poster or oral presentation are welcome. The deadline for abstract submission is midnight (Eastern time) November 1, 2002, and all abstracts should be submitted via the ACS web site at this location:
