POSTDOCTORAL POSITION - COMPUTATIONAL MATERIALS SCIENCE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT URBANA-CHAMPAIGN A postdoctoral research position is available jointly in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and the Center for the Simulation of Advanced Rockets at the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign, under the supervision of Prof. Robert Averback The research will cover atomic level simulations, primarily classical molecular dynamics, of interfacial reactions under extremely high strain rate conditions and the evolution of surface morphology under ion or laser irradiation. The position is initially for one year, renewable to a second. Expertise in molecular dynamics is required, as is a background in materials science. Experience with kinetic Monte Carlo and development of analytical potentials would also be helpful..
