UNIVERSITY LECTURER
Department of History and Philosophy of Science

We encourage applicants in any field of History and Philosophy of Science,
excluding History of Medicine.

To take up appointment on 1 October 2003.

The pensionable scale of stipends for a University Lecturer is 22,522
pounds a year, rising by eleven annual increments to 34,734 pounds. The
initial appointment will be for three years and reappointment will then be
to the retirement age, subject to satisfactory performance.  University
Lecturers can apply for promotion to Senior Lectureships, Readerships and
Professorships.

of teaching experience and two samples of recent work, should be sent to

to the Department on 12 and 13 December 2002 to give seminar talks and for
