The result is that today chemistry probably has a larger range of information search tools available with greater functionality than any other subject area. Themes for this meeting will include: a comparison of chemical information systems available in academia and industry; an exploration of education and training needs in both environments; problems associated with integration of systems; the transition from searching by intermediaries to end-users. There will be a panel discussion, where users and vendors will be able to present their views on issues raised Programme 09.30 Arrival and registration 10.00 Opportunities and challenges in academia 10.30 Opportunities and challenges in industry 11.00 Coffee/tea 11.30 Methods of evaluating information sources 12.00 Managing internet chemical information 12.30 Lunch 13.45 The Royal Society of Chemistry Library and its services 14.15 Chemical information skills education and training14.45 Tea/coffee 15.15 Panel discussion1630 Close Cost (including lunch and refreshments) UKOLUG members stlg90 + VAT (stlg105.75); others stlg?120 + VAT (?stlg141)Chemical Information: Maximizing the opportunities and minimizing the challenges Thursday 18 April 2002, University of Leeds Please complete and return this form, by 18 March 2002, to Christine Baker, The Old Chapel, Walden, West Burton, Leyburn, North Yorkshire DL8 4LE.
