10:30AM Overview & history of digital art - Darryl Georgiou, artist and
lecturer specialising in interactive digital artworks and new technology in
public art at Coventry University.
11:15AM TV Swansong: innovative internet and gallery based cross-media art
project - Georgia
                                Ward, TV Swansong Project Manager and Rory
Hamilton, contributing artist and principal tutor in computer-related design
at the Royal College of Art.
12:15AM SPC.ORG - James Stevens, founder of backspace experimental media
lab, host to numerous internet based art projects.

2:00PM  Curating new media art - Helen Sloan, Director of Metapod expo
2:45PM  Workshop: locating and looking at internet art. Hands-on computer
session - seminar room as 40 networked PC's

The Lanchester Library breaks new grounds environmentally. Finished in
summer 2000 it is almost wholly naturally ventilated, naturally cooled, and
naturally lit. There will be the opportunity for a tour of the building at
4.30pm for those who wish to stay on.


ART AND THE INTERNET - Booking Form

This seminar will provide and overview of new media art and is aimed at
librarians, slide librarians, curators, archivists and other professionals
who have an interest in digital/computer based art. Themes covered will
include the creation, history, dissemination, archiving and curatorial
aspects of computer based art. A hands-on workshop will cover locating
internet based art and give delegates the chance to look at the websites
discussed throughout the day.

Cost, including lunch: £80 ARLIS members,  £100 non ARLIS Members,  £53

allocated on a "first come first served" basis.
