Course participants will be given a copy of a successful bid, which was made recently to JISC, and this will be used as the basis of the course. There will also be an opportunity to discuss participants` own proposals. 21/01/03 Telephone skills - Manchester – cost 85 pounds This course aims to help participants develop their telephone technique. At the end of the course participants will be able to Explain the key differences between dealing with people face to face and on the telephone Take clear and accurate messages Use effective questioning and listening techniques on the phone Deal with difficult callers 30/01/03 Managing meetings – Liverpool – cost 85 pounds The aim of this course is to give participants the skills to contribute effectively in meetings as a participant or as the chairperson. At the end of the course participants will have: Identified why some meetings fail. Discussed how to plan a meeting effectively. Demonstrated the skills required to chair a meeting.
