With apologies for cross-posting: Preservation Management Summer School 20th - 22nd August, 2002 Venue: London Metropolitan Archives, 40 Northampton Road, London EC1R 0HB This course is primarily intended for people working with archives and records across the heritage sector seeking to gain more in-depth knowledge of preservation issues. The course will be suitable for people at all levels from archive assistants to librarian managers of archives repositories. It will focus on presenting the big picture of effective preservation management with detailed examination of key areas. The tutors will be Jonathan Rhys-Lewis a leading consultant in preservation management and Janet Foster and Margaret Crockett of the Archive-Skills Consultancy. The course is intensive and highly participative: participants are encouraged to prepare by thinking about preservation issues in their own repositories. The programme is designed to enable you to evaluate your preservation needs and develop your notes throughout the course into an achievable strategy for implementation in the workplace.
