If an institution has subscribed to Project MUSE in addition to America: History and Life and/or Historical Abstracts, users will automatically see these links to full-text in their research results. This partnership is the third of its kind for the ABC-CLIO history databases, with links to the full-text of journals from JSTOR and the History Cooperative already in place. For further information on the CHEST Agreement for America:History and Life and the CHEST JISC Agreement for Historical Abstracts please see <http://www.chest.ac.uk/datasets/america_history/> and <http://www.chest.ac.uk/datasets/historical_abs/> respectively. b) Bartholomew Vector Data for Europe ------------------------------------- CHEST has been provided with upgraded Bartholomews Europe 1:1,000,000 Vector data (2001), as follows: ArcView Shape ArcInfo Coverage ArcInfo Export MapInfo Tab Each of the above is on a separate CD. There is an "Upgrades Order Form" on the CHEST web pages at: <http://www.chest.ac.uk/datasets/barts/> This should be completed and returned to CHEST with an official purchase order, addressed to "EduServ", to cover the cost of media (£25 per CD). The distribution of the upgrades will be the responsibility of CHEST, and we will endeavour to turn your order round within seven working days. c) EBSCO and JSTOR ------------------ A recent message from EBSCO states: "EBSCO is excited to announce that we have enabled article-level linking from EBSCOhost to the full-text articles available in the JSTOR archive. The initial implementation of this linking agreement will facilitate full-text links from all EBSCOhost proprietary databases (including Academic Search Premier, Academic Search Elite, Business Source Premier and Business Source Elite) as well as the MEDLINE database. These databases will link to many of the 218 titles currently available in JSTOR's five archival collections (Arts & Sciences I, Arts & Sciences II, General Science, Ecology & Botany, and Business)." Institutions currently licensed for EBSCO Databases and for JSTOR should therefore benefit from this development. d) Tele Atlas MultiNet Evaluation --------------------------------- Following the recent announcement of the launch of the CHEST/Tele Atlas Agreement, CHEST has agreed to administer the provision of evaluation samples of MultiNet digital map data, on behalf of Tele Atlas. Tele Atlas is making two sample datasets available for sites to evaluate for a period of up to 3 months. The sample areas are: Paris (subset of France) and Leeds (subset of North) These will be supplied in Shapefile format. The terms under which evaluation copies of the data will be provided are documented in the Agreement Overview, which can be accessed from: <http://www.chest.ac. uk/datasets/teleatlas/>. The Evaluation Request Form is also available to download from the same URL above. e) MIMAS Open Forum 2002 ------------------------ The MIMAS Open Forum 2002 will be held in Manchester on Thursday 4 July in Crawford House at the University of Manchester. The purpose of the Open Forum is to bring together users, teachers and support staff interested in online information and learning resources, and present them with news of current and future developments at MIMAS and in the academic information environment, workshops, and opportunities for them to tell MIMAS how they can improve the services.
