CALIM (The Consortium of Academic Libraries in Manchester) presents a one day course on effective mentoring and coaching, with trainer Deborah Dalley. Thursday, 21st February 2002, 10.00- 16.30, Manchester Business School, Manchester. There is currently a growing use of mentoring and coaching within organisations. This course is aimed at all library and information staff and is designed to help participants develop the knowledge and skills required to successfully mentor and coach staff. The course will explore a variety of topics including the benefits of mentoring and coaching and the difference between them, the coaching and mentoring relationship, setting up the first meeting, learning styles, and mentoring and coaching skills. At the end of the course, participants will have: *discussed the role of the mentor and coach *identified the skills required to be an effective mentor and coach *assessed their own level of skill.
