PS - the Analyze history orient field only provides for ortho views. If you acquire at some angle off a standard ortho slice, as you might for EPI, the history orient field will not help. Hi, If one wants to registerer different scans from one MR session to each other, and one knows that the subject had not moved in between those scans (which is usually the case), then the initial reslice matrix can be based upon the exact slice positioning and orientation vectors of the original MR images. In fact, we have written software that does just this, but it works on dicom images only. We want to extend our software to work on analyze images as well, but it seems that the analyze format misses a field for storing the three image direction vectors. We were already thinking about adding a third file to the hdr/img combination, but perhaps someone can suggest an unused field in the header that can be used for this information?
