One or more graduate and postdoctoral positions are available in the
Department of Geology & Geophysics at Yale University to support research on
integrative approaches to tectonics, thermo- or geochronometry, and
geomorphology. For the postdoctoral positions, we are especially interested
in individuals with experience in applying dating techniques to regional
tectono-geomorphic problems with integrated geodynamic models. Potential
projects include orogenic evolution of the Northern Apennines, development
and application of multi-method dating using (U-Th)/He and (U-Th)/Pb
systems, erosion rates in the Rocky Mountains, detrital thermochronology in
orogenic drainages, study of age-elevation relationships, study of cooling
age patterns on large normal faults, etc. Contact Peter Reiners
([log in to unmask]) or Mark Brandon ([log in to unmask]) for more
information. Department website: http://www.geology.yale.edu/. Send
statements of research interests and goals and contact information for three
references by December 23rd 2002.
