============================= Teaching Economics Bristol, 16-17 September 2002 ============================= http://www.economics.ltsn.ac.uk/events/natworkshop.htm Economics LTSN is organising a residential two day workshop for recently appointed lecturers. Whether you are new to teaching economics or just bored with "dictative learning" and want to try something different, come to our residential workshop in Bristol. You will find out about various approaches, methods and resources for learning and teaching Economics, including active learning, effective assessment, problem-based learning, case studies, games and simulations, use of Web and virtual learning environments (such as Blackboard and WebCT). Being subject-specific, the event will complement any generic-based institutional courses. Each day of the workshop will focus on a theme so that delegates can opt to attend either or both days. The theme for the first day is Teaching and Learning; for the second it is Use of ICT. All the information and booking details could be found at: http://www.economics.ltsn.ac.uk/events/natworkshop.htm ---------------------- Chris Mitchell, Economics LTSN, Institute for Learning and Research Technology, University of Bristol, [log in to unmask]
