This company is working with the Department for Education and Skills on their major project Cybrarian. Your feedback would be appreciated in order to help in their research. "Cybrarian is aimed at narrowing the digital divide by enabling access to the Internet for those that do not currently use it because of a lack of skills or confidence or because of a physical or cognitive impairment. Worth Media's work involves researching the value of incorporating 'online community tools', (e.g. online mentors, discussion forums or instant messaging), into Cybrarian and, in particular, their value to disabled people using the Internet. The findings from our research will influence and inform how Cybrarian is developed to meet the needs of users. As you are actively involved with disability workers, I wondered whether you know of any other contacts you feel may be able to help with the research, especially those involved in mentoring or e- mentoring disabled people. It will involve only a small amount of time, an initial 20-minute telephone interview followed by an opportunity to review a draft of the final report and add comments. I am happy to answer any questions you might have about our research or Cybrarian and please do not hesitate to contact me on my direct line, 01273 201195, if you have any queries."
