Head of Oxford Digital Library
Academic Related Grade 5, Salary £35,251 - £39,958 p.a.

With the recent departure of the first Head of Oxford Digital Library,
Dr Norbert Lossau, to take up the post of University Librarian at
Bielefeld, we are now seeking to appoint his successor.

The Oxford Digital Library has recently been established as a key
component in the implementation of a comprehensive e-strategy for
Oxford University Library Services. Three major objectives have been:
the conversion of the Bodleian Photographic Studio into an on-demand
digitization service; new support for teaching and research activities;
and a significant production stream of digitized material, based on
Oxford's traditional holdings.

The Head of Oxford Digital Library is responsible for the planning,
development and management of the Oxford Digital Library. We seek an
exceptional individual with considerable knowledge and experience of
digital resource management, research libraries and their needs, and
the wide range of technical, managerial, legal and financial issues of
creating, delivering and preserving scholarly digital material. S/he
should have the energy and vision to direct the formation of the Oxford
Digital Library rapidly and effectively, and should be capable of
representing the Oxford University Library Services at the very highest
level.

To discuss this post informally, please telephone David Price, +44 1865
280048.
