Subject: SocioTech North Lecture Series

The British Computer Society's SocioTech North lecture group host talks
and events that relate to IT technology and its social impact. The talks
stem from academic research as well as practical industrial viewpoints
and
give an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the variety of work going
on
in the field as well as associated with it.

The next session will be held on the 23rd of October and will be given
by
Elayne Coakes, one of the London based SocioTech originators and is a
Senior Lecturer at Westminster Business School. Elayne will be welcoming
the North based group and giving a talk on Stakeholders and Boundaries
in
Strategic Planning for Information Systems.

The venue is to be held in room 109, University of Sunderland, School of
Computing & Technology (CAT), Tom Cowie Campus, St. Peter's Way,
Sunderland, Tyne & Wear, SR6 0DD. Car park permits can be obtained from
CAT reception and there is disabled access. The seminars will be held on
Wednesdays mid-afternoon 3pm and they are free to all, and all welcome.
