I am honestly not certain how relevant this course would be to you,
though I feel there is now a close link between information services and
any kind of internet teaching. So I am taking the
liberty of telling you about the internet training course I have been
running for 10 years now, in case you might be considering moving into
e-teaching.
It is the certificate in Online Education & Training, from the
Institute of Education, University of London, run globally with regional
groups so there is always international and local discussion.
You'll find it a forum for rich structured collaborative learning with UK
and world-wide educators.
The course has been running 10 years, and we now use a range of
multimedia materials and various platforms to consider different methods
of teaching and syllabus design issues, closely tied to workplace needs.
It gives a real insight into the needs of e-learning provision from the
student point of view, as well the institutional.
It starts November 8th for 20 non-intensive weeks, using FirstClass for
communication, our website for resources, and various VLEs for
experience. The optional meeting in London on day 1 includes a talk
on how Mobile Technology is already in use for Education.
