Dear Colleagues,

This is a reminder e-mail about four conferences and call for papers. These conferences are important for building and sustaining a community of heterodox economists and developing heterodox economic theory.

The first Conference is the POST KEYNESIAN WORKSHOP which is being held at UMKC over the period of June 17 to July 3, 2002. It is divided into two parts. The first is the POST KEYNESIAN WORKSHOP SUMMER SCHOOL (which is for the period of June 17 to June 28, 2002); and the second is the POST KEYNESIAN WORKSHOP (which is for the period of June 29 to July 3, 2002). See the two pke attachments for more details.

The second conference is the ASSOCIATION FOR HETERODOX ECONOMICS which is being held in Dublin, Ireland on July 9-10, 2002. See the ahe attachment for more details.

The third conference is being put on by the INTERNATIONAL CONFEDERATION OF ASSOCIATIONS FOR PLURALISM IN ECONOMICS (ICAPE) and is being held at UMKC on June 5-7, 2003. Its theme is THE FUTURE OF HETERODOX ECONOMICS. See the icape attachment for more details.

The fourth conference is INSTITUTIONALISM IN ECONOMICS AND SOCIOLOGY--VARIETY, DIALOGUE AND FUTURE CHALLENGES organized by Klaus Nielsen and is being held at Rungstedgaard, Denmark on 23-25 May 2002. See the inst attachment for more details.

I hope you find this conference information of interest and I hope that you can participate in at least one of these conferences.

There is one last thing of interest. The economic graduate students at UMKC put out an electronic journal called Oeconomicus. It gives you an idea of what is going on at UMKC and what the graduate students are doing. The current issue also contains interviews with Anne Mayhew and Stephen Dunn. You might want to take a quick glance at it. See the journal attachment for more information.

Sincerely,

Fred Lee
