Anyone recognise an old poem beginning?--- Lilac and green of the sky Brown of the broken earth Apple trees whitening high May and the summer's breath. Pleasant lady who runs a bookshop in Castletownbearehaven asked my if I'd identify it for her, she learned it at school, etc. There might be mistakes in this transcription. Funny colour for the sky really, even in County Cork, and the syntax latterly is unsteady. Or is this alienation creeping in? /PR
