I am looking to work as a statistician within the finance world, and facing two main obstacles. First, most vacancies require a minimum of 2 yrs experience and second, the positions are within the medical field.

My questions are:

Can anyone advise me, the "new" statistician, on what to do?

Do any of the Pharmaceutical companies require a statistician to work within their finance department?
