I am looking for examples where longitudinal self-reported data has been
adjusted to evaluate trends with respect to changes in factors related to a
changing awareness of an affecting issue or changes in societal attitudes
to the issues or factors related to it.

I am particularly interested in examples accounting for the effects of
awareness and attitudes on self-reporting of ill-health overtime in large
nationally representative data. However, examples from other fields may
also be of relevance for example the influence of advertising on some
self-reported outcome.
