Dear AFLS colleagues, As Chair of the AFLS Research Committee, I was asked recently to draw up an AFLS contribution to the current RAE review. I have now done this and sent the document to the RAE review. The document is attached to this message. I consulted the other members of the Research Committee of course, as well as the main Committee and several other AFLS colleagues with special expertise in this area. But I do apologise if any members who were not consulted feel excluded or that aspects of the document do not represent their views. Given the deadline and other constraints, I did not feel that I could have coped with handling an even larger number of e-mails.
