Another Phonetics book for review in the JIPA. For anyone who doesn't know the first edition of Catford, it's a marvellous guide to practical articulatory phonetics. It includes a large number of 'experiments', whereby the reader is 'talked through' producing almost the entire range of human speech sounds.
