When I worked at the Maudsley Hospital I reviewed our target range from over 2200 lithium results. The data looked normally distributed with a mode of 0.80 mmol/L, and the range from 0.30 to 1.30 mmol/L included 95% of all the results. However we still quoted a rather archaic target range of 0.5 to 1.5 mmol/L !
